I cannot select the polygons mentioned on step 39. I have applied the modifiers to the 'Bldg-MainWall' object in the correct order, going from bottom to top, Extrude, Shell, and Edit Poly. For some reason, after I do the slice plane and shift from edge to polygon view, the slice plane or rather the edges created by the slice plane disappear. My best guess is that there is a step missing in between the modifiers in that the slice plane is not wrapping around the entire 'Bldg-MainWall' object. Any thoughts?

It sounds like you may not be pressing slice after you bring up the slice plane.
